- ✓What should change, and what should not.
- ✓The recommended next actions you can act on.
European and U.S. building and home-products manufacturers and distributors.
For other situations, a distributor weighing a U.S. push, a single sharp question, a bespoke engagement, direct consultations with AJ are available on request.
AJ Marcoz, Managing Director. Before NovusMarc, I spent about twenty years at The Home Depot, on the side that decides what gets stocked and what gets cut. I ran a commercial Pro business of $750M+ within a region doing $3B+, and led HR for a North American business. That is where I learned how American buyers judge a supplier and where European expansion plans come apart. What I bring is that market fluency, not any former employer's confidential information. Now between Spain and Florida.

- Do you only help with first U.S. entry, or expansion too?
- Both. Some clients are weighing a first move into the United States. Others are already there, and the expansion has stalled or the commercial setup is not landing. The U.S. First Read tells you whether the U.S. makes sense for your business. An Advisory Session answers one specific question. With the U.S. Advisor, we work alongside you month to month.
- Do you work with brands selling through distribution and the Pro channel?
- Yes. Retail, the Pro and commercial channel, and distribution are three different businesses in the United States, and most building and home products sell through more than one of them. Reading which channel your product actually wins in is usually the first question.
- Can a U.S. brand get an outside read on its commercial setup?
- Yes. The work was built for European manufacturers, and U.S. building-products brands, distributors and dealers use the same outside read on their commercial model, channel and sales organization.
- What does the first 30-minute call cover?
- Your U.S. numbers, what is happening in the business, and whether NovusMarc is the right firm for it. There is no charge for it. You leave with a clear answer, whether or not we work together.
- What does the U.S. First Read include?
- 7 to 10 business days, for one fixed fee agreed before we start. A one-hour intake call; our review of your product, market, price and channels against what a U.S. buyer looks for; a written report with our recommendation, a SWOT, next steps and sources; and a 90-minute review call. You get a clear answer (go now, wait, or no), the target market and channels, where to start, and who should lead it. Time beyond the 90-minute review call is available as an Advisory Session, at an additional fixed fee. A named list of target accounts and contacts, and multi-week market assessments, come after, scoped separately, if we both want to continue.
- What does the First Read report cover?
- Summary and recommendation (go now, wait, or no); your product and the U.S. buyer: fit, specs and certifications; market view: how the category sells and how you compare; SWOT; target market and region; channels: the route that fits now, and what to leave for later; price: the full cost delivered in the U.S., and whether the margin holds; where to start: the minimum entry to prove market fit; who should lead it; next steps and checkpoints; sources and assumptions, with the references behind the analysis. Client reports stay confidential.
- What does an engagement cost?
- Every fee is fixed and agreed before we start.
